Objectives

• Identify and reward outstanding performance among SCMAP companies, key individuals and service providers and recognize the importance of, and the opportunities offered by excellent supply chain management

• To celebrate as an industry the successes of the member companies and acknowledge significant improvements which may be considered a best practice in the industry that shall serve to educate and provide valuable insights, lessons, and applicable takeaways to members

Categories

Supply Chain Operational Excellence

The award for Supply Chain Operational Excellence recognizes an SCMAP member organization that operates significant components of a supply chain and has demonstrated excellence in the design, operation or improvement of that supply chain in the Philippines

3PL Supply Chain Provider of the Year

This award recognizes the third party logistics provider who has proven excellence in developing and delivering supply chain solutions and services in  the country

Supply Chain Practitioner of the Year

This award recognizes an individual who has made a significant contribution to the success of his/her company in the country while implementing supply chain management initiatives, programs or applications.

Who Are Qualified to Join

  • All SCMAP member companies are eligible to join the search for the company categories
  • Joint entries from companies with their logistics systems or consulting partners are welcome
  • A member company can nominate a maximum of two practitioners for the individual award category. Candidates must belong to the rank and file or supervisory level of the company

Project Date Range

The project/initiative must either

(1)have been completed and/or implemented in 2010

(2)have measurable outcomes within the date range of Jan- March 2011

How to Apply

  • A web-enabled platform at www.scmap.org shall be open for nominations by December 2010 and shall be used to submit an application
  • Complete all elements of the Web application form
    - Select one category per entry and include the category on the cover page
  • Applications will only be accepted through the SCMAP web site

Mechanics for Company Category

1. Prepare an executive summary of no more than two pages (500-700 words) that includes, in this order:

  • Brief description of your organization
  • A clear description of the reason/rationale behind the project/initiative strategy

2.The nomination will clearly describe the nature of the achievement or proposal, the circumstances in which it was put into effect , scale of the application, the results achieved and the significance of the achievement

3. Provide supporting documentation further explaining the scope, impact and execution of the initiative following the general order of the executive summary

4. Validate how the project/initiative meets date range parameters

5. Provide results and how they were validated and quantified (for example, real-world performance data including milestones, baseline metrics and results or the percentage or magnitude of the results)

6. Results may be stated in terms of order of magnitude rather than actual figures. Supporting documentation cannot exceed six pages

7. Validation of results from internal business partners,external customers or suppliers is encouraged

8. Present plans for sustaining the initiative

Evaluation Criteria

  • Magnitude, importance and clarity of the benefit to their  local  operations arising from the project or initiative submitted. The initiative addresses a major organizational challenge for which new solutions would have wide organizational and/or supply chain impact
  • The application submitted covers a project led by a supply management department (i.e., the entity spending its own resources in support of  itsmission )through a supply management department
  • Entries must be supported by rigorous data based on real-world performance. Results should be measured, significant and sustainable and is certified as correct by an officer of the organization. If appropriate and available, validation outside the supply arena is welcome
  • Top contenders must offer a truly innovative solution, rather than just a modest improvement over existing practices

Mechanics for Individual Category

1. Prepare an executive summary of no more than two pages (500-700 words) that includes, in this order:

  • Brief description of his/her role in the organization
  • A clear description of the reasons for his/her nomination for the award

2. The nomination will clearly describe the extent of the individual involvement in a company project or initiative, the company values demonstrated, exemplary work ethics worthy of emulation by other practitioners

3. Provide supporting documentation further explaining the magnitude of the practitioners’ contribution toward the company project or initiative

Evaluation Criteria for Individual Category

  • Magnitude of contribution because of  individual involvement with particular regard to impact on Supply Chain organizational objectives
  • Outstanding leadership qualities  and work ethics demonstrated during the course of the project
  • Significant results of the project

Prizes

  • SCMAP trophy for each category – – Waived annual membership fee (2012) for the winning company / Third Party Logistics Provider
  • Waived fee during the Logistics Immersion course for the individual winner
  • Cash prize of P10K for each category

Selection Committee

  • Each application shall be rigorously evaluated by an independent  panel of judges composed of the country’s  leading supply chain practitioners and academicians

SCMAP Salute to Excellence Awards

  • Winners shall be proclaimed during the September 2011SCMAP Annual Conference
  • The judges decision shall be final
  • Winners of the company category shall make a presentation of their project during the Oct – Nov 2011 General Membership Meeting
